Enrique's Journey

I wanted to touch on Olga Sanchez Martinez, the woman who buys blood and medicine so migrants wounded by the trains won't die, and tirelessly spreads the message of hope and faith. Her story is told in Chapter 3 of Enrique's Journey.

Her dedication to helping those who have been cast aside by society really struck a nerve with me. The fact that she continues to do this work while struggling to make ends meet is even more impressive. She demonstrates her faith in a higher power through her continued action in service of others.

Her role in helping those who have lost limbs and their will to live cries out for a feature story or a photo essay. Her desire to help others through her work as a shelter director are probably overlooked and underappreciated, and news coverage would help draw attention to her cause and likely raise money for artificial limbs and other necessities injured migrants desparatly need.
